Description
The Smart BMS 12/200 is an all-in-one battery management system for smart lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries from Victron. It is specifically designed for 12 V systems with a 12 V alternator, such as vehicles and boats.
It brings together a current limiter, a battery combiner and a battery protector in a robust and compact solution that allows to safely connect any size 12 V alternator (and starter battery), loads and chargers to the Smart lithium batteries.
The BMS 12/200 Smart monitors and protects each battery cell (or battery bank) and will disconnect the alternator, charging sources or DC loads in the event of low or high battery voltage or overtemperature.
The dedicated alternator connection provides current limiting and one-way traffic from the alternator to the battery, so that an alternator (and starter battery) of any size can be safely connected to the Smart lithium battery (or battery bank) and the starter battery is protected from excessive discharge.
The BMS also features Bluetooth for tracking and configuration, a remote on/off connector to turn off the BMS (and the system) via a remote switch, and a pre-alarm contact to give a warning signal before the BMS disconnects the batteries from the system.
